Summary of position:

Under the direction of the Common Services Officer (property and materials), the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the completion of the full range of general maintenance services and repairs on the properties leased by the Embassy of Canada including in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting and specific functional maintenance (such as refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, auto/vehicle mechanics, audio-visual).  The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for overseeing and supervising the work of labourers and contractors.  The Maintenance Technician also provides advice on the development of scope of work for property related contracts, analyze and make recommendations on solutions to various property related issues, conducts research on potentials suppliers, maintains an inventory of tools and manages the lifecycle maintenance of various systems including generators and other materials.  The Maintenance technician is expected to be familiar with sustainable practices and safety requirements for properties.
