The Digital Transformation Center Vietnam is part of the global project “Digital Transformation”, a global initiative of the German government to enable local innovation worldwide.

The Digital Transformation Center Vietnam supports our Vietnamese partners in shaping Digital Transfromation that is human-centered and sustainable.

Three focus areas are:

• Green Tech Entrepreneurship
• Industry 4.0 (digitalization of SMEs) and
• Technology

We are looking for a professsional candidate to join the Digital Transformation Center in our core areas of Green Tech Entrepreneurship.Our “Green Tech Hub” facilitates incubation, acceleration and startup market access (“Landing Pad” program) interventions. The Senior Program Officer will be involved in all activities of the Green Tech Hub.

Senior Project Officer for Green Tech Entrepreneurship
Duty station: Hanoi, Vietnam
Duration of Assignment: ASAP – 30.11.2023

Main responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing the program area in Green Tech Entrepreneurship – including the project management and coordination for all activities and partners
• Strategy development concerning the activities and strategic positioning of the Green Tech activities, ranging from incubation, acceleration to market access
• Concept development of potential portfolio building and partnership management with other ecosystem stakeholders ranging from ministries to donors, the private sector, NGOs and other international organizations/networks
• Concept development and development of Terms of Reference (ToR) for Green Tech activities
• Procurement and management of international and local consultants to implement activities
• Policy advice and organizational development for the Vietnamese ministry partners of the project in the field of digitalization
• Establishing and promoting regional and German-Vietnamese tech entrepreneurship networks and exchanges
• Implementing daily operational aspects of all issues related to the Digital Transformation Center

Minimum requirements

• Master’s degree in political science, social science, business, ICT with a focus on digital transformation and innovation 
• Specialization in digital transformation and a minimum of 7 years work experience in the start-up world
• 5-7 years of experience managing startup programs (incubators, accelerators, market access programs)
• Excellent project management skills
• Good knowledge on current local and regional developments in the fields of innovation, tech and digitalization;
• Proven experience with start-up incubation, acceleration and scaling and innovation management a must
• Experience with green tech startups (circular economy, energy, mobility, agriculture) is a plus
• Good knowledge of the Vietnamese and regional Start-up ecosystem
• managerial and organisational competence
• Willingness to travel (abroad and domestically) regularly
• Very good knowledge of Vietnamese and English, German and other languages is a plus
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed –corresponding measures are agreed with management
