INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. Within the agriculture team of GIZ’s green cluster (comprising all projects from priority area 2), projects with a focus on Vietnam as well as a number of regional initiatives on regional trade integration are bundled and “Strengthening the resilience of poor population groups to climate change in selected ASEAN states, taking special account of the impact of COVID-19 in Cambodia and Viet” (CRAS) is one of those.

CRAS project commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, works with Cambodia and Vietnam. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience of poor population groups to climate change in selected agricultural value chains in the project regions (that is Cassava and Cashew value chains in Cambodia and Arabica Coffee value chain in Vietnam.

CRAS project in Vietnam works in Son La and Dien Bien – the largest Arabica coffee growing areas in the country.
The project will provide technical assistance in the following areas:

  1. Capacity building for farmers on coffee production methods to adapt to climate change, taking into account of the impact of Covid-19
  2. Improve linkages and cooperation between stakeholders in the coffee value chain in the 2 project provinces
  3. Strengthen the capacity of public and private sector organizations on climate change resilience solutions, taking into account of the impact of Covid-19
  4. Exchange of national experiences on public-private partnership cooperation through regional forms/platforms

The regional project work both on the regional level and country level with a focus on Cambodia, and Vietnam. The political partner in Vietnam is Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). The project is looking for a local qualified intern candidate to fill the following position:

National Intern
Duty station: 14 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho District, Hanoi, Viet Nam
Duration: 6 months, starting as soon as possible

The National Intern will learn & practice by assisting the Admin and Finance Team on all admin and finance tasks including:

  • Reception function for GIZ-CRAS Office in Hanoi
  • Operation function for telephone network to ensure the smooth operation of the office: answers, reviews, forwards and/or takes calls
  • Setting up meetings in GIZ-Agriculture Team Office in Hanoi/ Office in HCM
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondences (post, fax, mails)
  • Photocopies and scans documents as needed
  • Logistic services for project team (workshops, meetings, etc.)
  • Procurement, logistics, contract preparation, and processing vouchers
  • Translation of short documents and filing document
  • Shoot photos during events and workshops
  • And other areas in terms of finance and admin.

Minimum requirements:

  • Vietnamese citizen, who are in the last year of their study or newly graduated students within 6 months upon commencement of the internship.
  • Graduated from University in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Communication, Media or related to the project.
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and handle multi-tasks
  • Good at excel and words
  • Good command of spoken and written English

Apart from a monthly allowance, successful candidates will enjoy professional and dynamic working conditions and good policies of training.
