RECRUITMENT FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH OFFICER

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects working in 45 countries.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 5 provinces: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh city. We focus on education, water & sanitation, income generation sectors in different areas of Vietnam.

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

External

Country Director, General Director, Division Managers/Team Managers/ Officers in HO, PMs, CDP Officers

GNI’s Donors, Partners, Governmental Officials, INGOs, Communities.

2. MAIN DUTIES

1. General task

  • Participate in making strategies of GNI and CH Team in accordance with GNI’s strategies
  • Participate, monitor and support staff in division to implement activities for complying with GNI’s regulations, project’s quality and progress.
  • Establish and maintain good relationship with partners, community and donors;
  • Provide technical guidance to partners if needed to ensure the smooth and effectiveness of project implementation.
  • Monitor Field offices (CDPs) to implement the activities timely and effectively; conduct regularly or as requested – field trips to monitor project’s activities that he/she is in charge.
  • Coordinate with staff of other related teams to handle his/her tasks.

2. CH activities

  • Participate and support staff in division and project managers in making plan of action (POA) of GNI and CDP in water-sanitation and environment.
  • Participate in develop and maintain regulations, guiding forms in implementation of project activities.
  • Design and develop programs related to water & sanitation, health and environment sector in all CDPs.
  • Mainly in charge of projects related to water & sanitation, health and environment sector (or other sectors when necessary) that are assigned by CH team manager.
  • Design ideas, develop concept notes/ project proposal and implement approved project’s activities related to Emergency Relief sector when needed;
  • Conduct Environmental Education programs in project schools;
  • Evaluate CDP Performance annually in the sector of water & sanitation, health and environment.    

3. Networking development

  • Develop network of experts, consultants and service provider related IG activities

4. Reporting

  • Submit reports timely as requested (Director board, Manager, Donors…)

5. Other Task

  • Participate in other GNI activities as meeting, annual staff conference, etc.
  • Abide by the organization’s regulations and foster the organization’s solidarity.
  • Actively develop initiatives to enhance the work quality and productivity of project activities.
  • Consult and assist the CH team manager in necessary cases.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by managerial levels;

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education: University degree in Environmental Management, Natural Resources, Climate Change, Sustainable Development other related fields.

Requirements:

  • Experience in in-desk task (prepare documents, archives to external partners; filling financial documents).
  • Experience in management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • NGO working experience is preferable

 

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and with the team;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Good skill in computer use: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email
  • Good at English, both verbally and in writing;
