Communication Consultant, Vaccine and Immunization Program

I. Background

With expertise in science, health, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales solutions—including vaccines, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and innovative approaches to strengthening health systems worldwide.

In Vietnam, PATH aims in short-term to support and work with international partners (USAID, JSI, WHO, UNICEF) and local partners (Government authorities, Institutes, Provincial Departments of Health and Provincial Centers for Disease Control) to carry out the project of Technical Assistance to Support COVID-19 Vaccination for Children Under 12 and Its Integration into Routine Immunization rooted in Primary Health Care in Vietnam. This project would be conducted to support the project provinces to achieve their COVID-19 vaccination targets integrated with routine immunization to provoke the effectiveness of primary healthcare system and resources.

PATH seeks a Communication Consultant who support PATH, in collaboration with international partners (USAID, JSI, WHO, UNICEF) and local partners, to implement the project of “Technical Assistance to Support COVID-19 Vaccination for Children Under 12 and Its Integration into Routine Immunization rooted in Primary Health Care in Vietnam” with a focus on the communication activities, including to develop plans in detail according to approval workplan, regular reporting and facilitate the field trips, videos development, support for advocacy planning and implementation in the project sites and others. This position will report to the Vaccine and Immunization Team Lead.

II. Required Experiences and Skills

To be considered, candidates must have a good understanding of vaccination/immunization program and public health and at least 3 years (and preferably more) of relevant working experience.

  • University or bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of job-related experience in public health, and vaccines and immunization;
  • Good understanding of the health system and national expanded immunization program in Vietnam;
  • Excellent skills on report writing, communication message writing, video development and advocacy planning;
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with teamwork environment with solid interpersonal and verbal communication skills with ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Strong oral and written proficiencies in English and Vietnamese;
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), webinar and online communication applications.

III. Specific responsibilities of the consultant

  1. Support technical team members complete regular reports on the project progress and attend weekly meetings with project team and also with stakeholders.
  2. Support to ensure branding from all materials and products as required by project.
  3. Follow up with technical officers to ensure that the regular reports, quarterly reports and final report will be comprehensively completed timely and shared.
  4. Follow up with technical officers to support for advocacy plan and implementation in the field sites.
  5. Support to organize project events, seminar, webinars and meeting with stakeholders during the project implementation.
  6. Facilitate supportive supervision trips with stakeholders to the project sites to ensure relevant plan schedule, communications messages, and materials.
  7. Develop communication materials such as press release, success stories, videos on cold chain, project achievement and publications.
  8. Other required tasks assigned by the Vaccine and Immunization Team Lead.

IV. Timeline

  • From: March 15 (tentatively) to September 30, 2023:
    • Maximum Level of effort: 130 days
    • Travelling time: Up to 30%
