About iDE
iDE (www.ideglobal.org) is a U.S.-based international non-governmental organization implementing development programs in Africa, Asia and Central America. In Vietnam, since 1991, employing a market facilitation approach with strong partnerships at local and national government levels, iDE has implemented projects in pig value chain development, fertilizer deep placement commercialization, clean water, tobacco control, micro- irrigation technology commercialization and market-based sanitation. iDE Vietnam focuses on building the capacity of government partners and private sector actors to effectively scale market-based solutions, resulting in lower poverty, increased climate resilience, better health and cleaner environments.
About PwP project - Creating a Sustainable Circular Economy for Plastic Waste in Vietnam
The long-term vision for this project is to cultivate plastic waste recycling as a profitable venture for everyone involved in the value chain - particularly for local waste collectors and small recycling business owners - while reducing the flow of plastic waste into natural environments in coastal cities of Vietnam.
Responsibilities
The main duties of the Project Officer include (but not limited to) the following:
1. Project implementation
- Develop a detailed work plan for project activities as assigned by PM, including budget implementation activities according to the project's plan
- Collaborate with government and private partners in the project activities implementation under the supervision and guidance of the PM
- Provide technical support to the partners and stakeholders of the project
- Support the PM in monitoring project budget expenditures according to the donor and iDE's financial plans and guidelines
- Provide day-to-day project administration and implementation support and other administrative duties as needed (such as note taking, ensuring follow-up on action items as appropriate, tracking project deliverables and timelines, and document translations when necessary)
- Report on project activities to PM on a timely basis
2. Project monitoring and evaluation
- Support the monitoring of on-site activities to ensure efficient and timely implementation of activities
- Work with government and private partners of the project to collect necessary information and data for monitoring and evaluation purposes
3. Working relationship
- Within the iDE organization: Communicate and work closely with the project team to ensure effective implementation of project activities
- Outside the iDE organization:
- Cooperate with the public and private partners in the project, provide technical support to the partners and stakeholders of the project; monitor the activity carried out by the project's partners in accordance with the agreement between iDE and the partners
- Support all planned communication activities of the project
4. Other duties
As required by the Project Manager
Request
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
- University degree in business administration, environment, communication or other related disciplines
- Creative, flexible, able to work in a team and work under pressure
- Have a passion for environmental issues and/or have an understanding of plastic waste issues
- Have good communication skills
- Experience working in an international organization and/or the private sector
- Good command of English language, both written and spoken
- Experience with Google Suite tools - Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides, is a plus.
