ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD) is an international solidarity organization created in 1988 in France which implements socio-economic development projects in partnership with local institutions across 16 countries. The IECD intervenes in particular in the fields of education, vocational training and professional integration, entrepreneurship and access to health for the most vulnerable people.
The IECD started its activities in Vietnam in 2013 and currently supports 5 projects:
- A support program for Micro and Small Entrepreneurs (MSE)
- The Seeds of Hope (SOH) program which improves vocational training quality and job integrationfor young people in Electricity and Automotive in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)
- A Southeast Asian network of vocational schools in the hospitality and catering industry (ASSET-H&C)
- A French bakery school in Hue for socioeconomic disadvantaged youth La Boulangerie Française – LBF (created in 1999, supported by the IECD since 2015) and which self-finances its operation at more than 90%
- A French bakery school (LBF) in HCMC, operating on the same model as that of Hu?and launched in December 2017

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of IECD Vietnam Representative and Project Managers in Viet Nam, the Communication Officer will mainly focus on all internal and external communication activities of IECD.
His/her main missions will include:
1. Communication and Marketing
1.1. Digital Communication
- Website: Manage the websites of IECD Vietnam and its projects (ASSET-H&C, LBF) on WordPress and Odoo Platforms. Create pages, write articles, publish news and update them periodically or upon request
- Social Media and Newsletters: Plan, coordinate with projects to create and edit high quality content to maintain an active social media presence across a range of different social media platforms (Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, Youtube) and for digital newsletters (MailChimp)
- Social Listening and Sharing: Check members and partners' updates to share or coordinate if there is a chance. Keep sharing news and interesting communication materials to relevant social media groups, events, pages and key influencers
- Videos and Photos: Plan, create or coordinate the creation of multi-media communication materials
1.2. Communication Materials
- Plan, create, edit, and update periodically or upon requests high-quality print materials such as standees, brochures, posters, flyers, presentations, banners, publications, etc.
- Design and coordinate the production of corporate goodies: T-shirt, notebooks, calendars, cards etc.
- Take part in the product packaging design and recommendations for social business activities
1.3. Marketing (for LBF project as a Social Enterprise)
- Plan and create content for marketing campaigns of the year to sell the bakery products from students and finance their training
- Run and monitor Social Media Ads and Google Ads to drive more sales through orders on the website
- Attend to customer requests on social media and coordinate with the team for smooth customer service experience
- Coordinate and represent the Social Business at Sales events, networking activities, pitches to customers and partner
2. Communication Strategy and Monitoring
- Ensure consistency across all projects as well as internal and external communications by respecting IECD’s brand guidês and communication policiês
- Tracking, measure, and report on the effectiveness of the communication channels of IECD Vietnam and its projects
- Analyse collected data and contribute to the communication strategy with new ideas, initiatives or areas for improvement
- Actively seek new opportunities to to promote the available training programs and enhance the visibility with key publications, targeting vulnerable populations who will then become IECD beneficiaries, as well as other non-government organizations, potential partners and sponsors. Maintain records of media coverage
- Seek new fundraising and partnership opportunities for the projects and IECD
3. Other tasks
- Coordinate with IECD Headquarters in Paris for monthly internal newsletters and annual photo report of each project to complete IECD Global Annual Report as well as to support other Coms/Fundraising purposes
- Contribute ideas and talent for the global IECD teams in international communication and fundraising campaigns
- When necessary, coordinate with service providers (photographers, video makers, web designers, printer, graphic designer, translators, etc.)
- Coordinate with third parties (partners, ASSET-H&C members, etc.) on communication related matters
- Support projects in organizing events (welcome/graduation ceremonies, NPO-NGO Networking events, Trade Fairs etc.) and represent the projects/network/organization at appropriate events
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- • At least 3 years of experience in Communication / Digital Marketing required
- Good command of writing skills for different content types in both English and Vietnamese
- Good presentation and personal communication skills in both English and Vietnamese to communicate and maintain effective coordination with partners and team members
- Photography (portraits, events, in-action) and Photo Editor skills (Photoshop / Affinity / LightRoom)
- Basic video script writing, filming and editing skills
- A good sense of creativity and a savvy for new and effective communication methods
- Autonomy as well as a good time management and organizational skill
- Ability to prioritize requests and manage expectations of project teams
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Good computer and information technology skills
- A passion for community/charitable activities to create positive social impact
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University Degree in Marketing | Communications | Journalism | Linguistics or the likes
Experience: At least 2 years of full-time working experience in NGO/ Company
Languages: - Vietnamese (EXCELLENT)
- English (EXCELLENT in Writing and Conversation Skills – IELTS from 7.5)
