The Embassy of Australia in Hanoi is looking for a highly motivated and well organised individual to fulfil the position of Defence Engagement Officer (LE4). A merit list from this recruitment exercise may be used to fill similar positions over the next 18 months from the date of advertisement.

Working for the Department of Defence, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Australian Defence Attaché Office in Vietnam. Duties include the planning, protocol and logistic support to military personnel and delegations moving between Australia and Vietnam.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of Vietnamese protocol and ability to liaise effectively with Vietnamese authorities and a wide range of internal and external placeholders. Proven written and oral linguistic skills in English and Vietnamese that are effective in a range of situations, including, but not limited to interpreting, translating, hosting and conversing with speakers from a range of backgrounds.

The successful applicant will be offered an Ongoing/Permanent Employment. The Embassy will consider flexible work arrangements. The full-time monthly gross salary ranges from VND 37,023,003 to VND 41,669,718 depending on skills and experience.
