Overall Role - The main duty of the HCMC Site Coordinator is to plan, coordinate and supervise all program and support activities implemented in Ho Chi Minh city.
The overall objective of the consultancy will be to support the Viet Nam National Assembly, particularly the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth and Children, to explore international experience and best practice on child participation, and based on that to propose a mechanism for child participation in the work of Elected Organs (National Assembly and People’s Councils at provincial level) that is relevant to Viet Nam’s context and conditions.
The consultant should have: - Advanced academic degree in law/ human rights; - Excellent knowledge of and experience with child participation in the work of Elected Organs in the international context;
The overall objective of the study is to strengthen child rights monitoring in Viet Nam, with a particular focus on the child rights oversight role and function of the National Assembly. The study should examine the current situation in Viet Nam, explore international experience and best practice on child rights monitoring in line with Viet Nam’s conditions, and, based on that, propose options for a child rights monitoring mechanism or for an Ombudsperson for children that is relevant to Viet Nam.
