UNDP Vietnam seeks proposals from international individual consultants and consultants assigned by consulting firms/institutions to conduct Research Study on Court Administration of an Eastern European country in transitioning toward a rule-of-law state, under the Project “Strengthening Access to Justice and Protection of Rights”.
The main objectives of the research study are: 1. To describe the court governance and administration systems that the studied country has adopted; and to analyze the way and trend in which the country’s judicial system (within its political, cultural and institutional context) enhance or undermine the independence and impartiality of judicial decision-making.
The UNCT-level ‘Accounting for Gender Equality’ Scorecard sets minimum standards for UNCTs to assess their performance, and to identify gaps and progress across the system. The purpose of the Gender Scorecard exercise is: - To assist UNCTs in identifying areas in which they are meeting or not meeting minimum standards. - To stimulate a constructive dialogue within the UNCT about the current status of support for gender equality and women’s empowerment and how it can be improved. - To identify where technical assistance can support the achievement of minimum standards. - To share good practice in supporting national priorities to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
1. Introduction The Avian and Pandemic Influenza Initiative (APII) is a three-year project awarded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to Abt Associates Inc. (Abt) and its partners in October 2009. The project aims to build the capacity of the Government of Vietnam (GVN) and its counterparts to identify, prevent and control avian influenza outbreaks in both animals and humans. In addition to national level activities, the project has been working in the five focus provinces: Can Tho, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Kien Giang, and Quang Tri.
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) implements a project named “Support to Social Work Development in Viet Nam from 2010 to 2014”. Project objectives include: (1) to improve general public and policy makers understanding of professional social work and its role and benefits for addressing personal, social and health concerns; (2) to create an environment for social workers to share information and promote opportunities for cooperation; (3) to improve social welfare and social protection services for vulnerable groups; and (4) to strengthen the capacity of MOLISA to coordinate, mobilize and involve other stakeholders and ministries to promote social work development.
