This is Climate Change Adaptation subgroup meeting

The Adaptation Sub-group under CCWG in cooperation with Disaster Management Working Group has developed the Mainstreaming Guidelines of integrating CCA and DRR into development projects. The draft Guideline version 2 is now available and will be share at this meeting then get more feedback on it.
 
The agenda of the meeting will be:

   1. Feed back on the Guidelines, how to finalise it.
   2. What are the priorities and plans for the Sub group for 2010 including Guidelines follow up.

Climate Change Activities Matrix for Vietnam

 

Introduction

 

A matrix of climate change studies and activities in Vietnam has been produced by the World Bank, in collaboration with the Government of Vietnam, donors, and non-governmental organisations. It is intended as a tool to facilitate collaboration and cooperation. It can be found at the following websites:

This is regular meeting of Climate Change Working Group. The main agenda of this meeting will be a discussion on group activities in 2010. The detail agenda will be as bellow:

- Discussion on Thematic group plans for 2010 of  Thematic groups: ABC, Adaptation, Mitigation, Policy

NGO Activities

Climate change activities of non-governmental organisations in Vietnam

 

Non-governmental organisations are planning and implementing a range of climate change activities in their own right and through other networks. Details of climate change project activities of non-governmental organisations are listed and regularly updated in the Vietnam Projects matrix. The matrix has been produced by the World Bank, in collaboration with the Government of Vietnam, donors and NGOs.

Thematic Group: Climate Change Mitigation

Under the Vietnam NGO Climate Change Working Group, the theme of mitigation is understood to cover all measures that can be taken proactively to reduce the net current or future emissions of greenhouse gases from Vietnam. This includes measures that result in tradable emission reductions for compliance and voluntary markets. It also includes measures that are not linked to markets but which measurably contribute to net emission reductions.

 

The CCWG believes that mitigation must be part of Vietnam’s strategy for addressing climate change for the following reasons:
