Typhoon Ketsana (typhoon Number 9) 2009

This typhoon swept through the central provinces of Vietnam on 29, 30 September 2009. This is strong desaster

caused grave damages to the people's lives, crops, housing and environment.

DMWG had sent 6 Joint Asessment Teams to conduct rapid assessment in 6 affected provinces.

This is the information session on Ketsana impacts in Viet Nam. In close collaboration with the Central Committee for Floods and Strom Control (CCFSC), the Disaster Management Working Group (DMWG), PACCOM, this section that will be held on Tuesday, 6 October 2009 at 3 pm. in MARD premises.

Emergency Disaster Management Working Group meeting on Typhoon number 9

This is Urgent meeting of Disaster Management Working Group on Typhoon Ketsana (typhoon No 9 in Vietnam). The meeting will be focusing on:
 1. Update information on the situation of the typhoon/Response from Govnt, possible funding from Donors
 2  Guidelines, need assessment and report formats for Joint Assessment Team Members  (Summary of general information that  relevant for Rapid Assessments from UNDP)
 3. Discussion and agreement for conducting RAPID ASSESSMENT
