Program Officer

The East Meets West Foundation (EMW) is “the foundation for learning, healing and health".  Founded in 1988, EMW has a 23-year track record of innovative and effective work in Vietnam and a vast portfolio of completed projects. EMW projects and programs are known for their high quality, long-term sustainability, emphasis on results and significant scale.

They are now seeking a high qualified candidate to take the job of Program Officer, based in Hanoi Office. The Program Officer is responsible for the program and communications activities for a group of EMW’s programs.

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Duties/Responsibilities

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
- Liaise with national and local partners for execution of program activities. Build and nurture effective working relationships with them to facilitate effective implementation of the program.
- To support the Program Manager in day-to-day management of the programs including budgeting, administration, monitoring to ensure program activities be on schedule and program expenditures are cost efficient.
- Prepare monthly reports, quarterly reports and other reports upon request.
- Manage donor relations, including keeping a good database of donors and potential donors, build and maintain good relationship with the program donors with thank-you letters, reports and ensure their publicity benefits.
- Planning and arranging visits to the field, including field research, meetings with partners, monitoring trips, etc.

COMMUNICATIONS
- Development of communications materials and website management
- Draft the content and designs for related materials including factsheets, brochures, leaflets, banners, posters, video scripts, presentation about the programs
- Liaise with media partners for development of promotional news, stories and reportages.
- Act as a liaison with the suppliers (graphic designer, photographers, film producers, printing houses, ...) to make sure the quality of the services are met.
- Manage the news update and administration of programs’ websites, online donations and donor database

PR and event organization:
- Support in promotion of the programs through different media channels at national and local levels and maintain good relationship with the media
- Coordinate with national and local partners and services providers to plan and manage national and community-based events to promote and fundraise for these programs
- Desired qualifications and attributes
- Bachelor Degree, preferably in Communications/Public Relations, Journalism, Business, Marketing, International Development
- At least 2 years relevant work experience in communications or public relations at international organizations
- Strong practical skills in communications and public relations (event planning and management, promotional and communications materials development)
- Being able to design promotional materials using basic design softwares
- Ability to think strategically, conceptualize new ideas, digest and analyze complex information and present coherent work plan or implementation plan
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaison with national and local high ranking people
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including an ability to build relationships
- Possess a professional attitude and diligence, and be able to work independently as well as work in a team
