Project Assistant for MEF Project at University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City

 

The Medical Education for the Future (MEF) Project is an initiative by an international NGO headquartered at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. This project aims to enhance higher education in Vietnamese health institutions, fostering sustainable quality improvements in Vietnam’s public health sector. By working with MEF, you will gain valuable experience in an international environment, working closely with professors and staff from Yonsei University as well as the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP). This role provides a unique opportunity to gain deeper insights into medical education in Vietnam and Korea, while witnessing the growth of Vietnam’s public health system through the project’s transformative efforts.

The MEF office is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated individual for the position of Project Assistant

 

Position Overview:

  • Report to: Director of the MEF Office
  • Workplace: 3rd floor, 217 Hong Bang Street, Ward 11, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City
  • Type of job: Full time
  • Expected Starting Date: As soon as possible
  • Duration: 24 months (subject to a two-month probation period)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative and financial duties to support project implementation, including writing post-workshop reports, organizing key events in the assigned sectors (research capacity and industry-academia collaboration), managing financial records, tracking expenditures and collecting evidential documents for all financial transactions.
  • Coordinate team schedules, draft communications, and respond to inquiries
  • Facilitate effective communication and ensure information flow between stakeholders
  • Assist with drafting contracts, budgets and donor reports under the manager and director’s guidance.
  • Process financial documents, including contracts, invoices and expense reports
  • Organize logistics for project activities
  • Translate and interpret documents/ reports between English and Vietnamese.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (fields such as social work or public health preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and internet applications
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Experience working with NGOs or international organizations
