Ngo-lwg -- Landmines Working Group

About Ngo-lwg

The Landmines Working Group shares information and project activities that address the economic and social impact of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Vietnam. It discusses programmes undertaken by international non-government organisations (INGOs) to help mitigate the problem and considerS proposals for further action.

Participating organisations have funded research and reports, sponsored Vietnamese representatives at regional and international conferences, supported mine action activities (such as mine and UXO clearance and survivor assistance), and are involved in follow-up development projects in areas cleared of ordnance. Discussions have been held with Vietnamese ministries and agencies in an effort to improve understanding of the issue and develop a more comprehensive and effective national policy to coordinate mine action activities and to address the impact of landmine and UXO contamination in Vietnam. The mailing list was established in 2006.
