Subject: [Ngo-lwg] New Chairpersons of Landmines Working GRoup
Dear Colleagues:
Following the meeting on 7 January 2013, we are pleased to announce that
two persons have been nominated as Co-Chairs of the Landmines Working
Group (LWG):
Ms. Thao Griffiths, Country Director, International Center - Vietnam
Veterans of America Foundation
Ms. Portia Stratton, Country Director, Mines Advisory Group (MAG) Vietnam
Before releasing an official announcement on new co-chairs, we would
like to re-confirm if the majority of LWG members agree with these
nominations. Please note that the general working groups guidelines
allow a range of different approaches to coordinating mechanisms of
working groups. Participants at the last LWG meeting agreed to adopt a
model of two co-chairs in 2014, which is reflected in the revised Terms
of Reference (TOR). Please find the attached TOR, together with a
proposed LWG Plan of Action (POA) for 2014.
If you have any comments or concerns on the new TOR, POA or the two new
co-chairs, please email Ms. Thu Ha (NGO RC) and the current LWG Chair
Mr. Jonathon Guthrie (NPA), both copied on this email. If we do not hear
from you before 17 January 2014, we will consider that you agree with
all changes.
Thank you in advance. Kind regards.
On behalf of the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre,
Marko
