*Kenan Foundation Asia *(Vietnam Office) are looking for Education and
Development Specialist, detailed information as below:

*Education and Development Specialist*

*Section/Unit:* Vietnam Office

*Reports to:* Country Program Manager, Vietnam

*Subordinates:* None

*Coordinate with:* Project and technical teams in BKK and Vietnam
                            The local team in Vietnam

*Place of Work:* Hanoi, Vietnam

*Contract Duration:* 12 Months from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 and
to be extended

*Overall Responsibilities*
Responsible for the STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Math) leading in order to achieve project goal, objectives, milestones and
targets to meet the 5 years strategic plan.This includes co-design with
local - international experts and upgrade schools and priorities as needed
and providing technical, project and financial management expertise to
education program. Consultant reports directly to the Country Program
manager

*Key tasks and responsibilities*

*1. Provide the technical education areas especially STEM aspects to
fulfill the 5- year strategic plan*

   - Establish education strategies, develop the annual action plan with
   budget, program outlines, and identify the content align and support
   overall Kenan Strategies
   - Apply knowledge and expertise to design and develop framework
   - Develop proposal/research/concept note to ensure that they are
   perceived as a high value added solutions per client’s/stakeholder’s needs
   including but not limited to assist with COP/engagement managers/executive
   directors to do scoping, preliminary diagnosis, engaging key stakeholders
   and/or decision maker, and verify key pitching points to ensure the success
   of pitching process (including cross functional brainstorms, etc)
   - Develop the methodology, risk and opportunities assessment, and
   strategies for implementation plan for corporate and institutional donors.
   - Engage the private sector to determine critical skills needs and
   leverage private sector training expertise and resources.
   - Provide the capacity building to the staff and partners in STEM
   education.

*2. Manage the project implementation in professional manner accordingly to
the service level agreement and meet client demands and deadlines*

   - *Set up the projects, details work plan*, PTS, procedures and obtain
   the project approval from internal and KEY external stakeholders to ensure
   the practical results and well implementation
   - *Conduct and facilitate the project activities* accordingly to the
   project plan.
   - *Work closely with local and national education* to archive the
   project goals and objectives
   - *Oversee the project implementation*; ensuring that the quantity and
   quality agreed are met expectations and per milestone
   - *Set up interim meeting with key stakeholder* (when appropriate) to
   ensure each project deliverables are met expectations
   - *Ensure the effective communication flow* among internal and external
   team
   - *Support in evaluation of project activities* in a timely and
   professional manner

*3. Monitoring and Reporting*

   - *Monitor the progress of the projects* to ensure donor compliance
   through effectively managing staff, partners, and consultants to achieve
   the deliverable and produce quality reports in a timely manner.
   - *Works closely with key technical and staff* on preparation of
   progress reports, mid-term and final evaluation to ensure compliance to
   ensure the quality and report framework meets client’s expectation

*4. Implement the enhancing and developing Kenan’s excellent external
profile*

   - *Assist with marketing & public relation activities* for the Kenan and
   projects.
   - *Contribute in conducting the credible and persuasive communication* of
      Kenan’s strategic ambition to key audiences - the media, policy-makers,
      private sector
      - *Networking with key body* in private sector in Vietnam
   - *Support the Country Program Manager*, Vietnam in securing project
   funding from corporate clients in Vietnam and building an education network.

*5. Develop and Manage Team*

   - *Expand the capability and development of the Kenan members* by
   utilizing mixed interventions e.g. sharing the knowledge, experiences and
   expertise, set up the End of Project Review (EOPR), coach junior
   staff/outsource, etc
   - Be responsible for *building - or helping to ensure the success of –
   cross- teams’ knowledge/skills sharing* such as insight of client
   information and how to successfully engagement client which bring about to
   become prefer vendor

*Qualifications*

   - Bachelor/master degree in Social Science or Education or Development
   or related field
   - The ability to multi-task, meet client demands and deadlines, as well
   as a strong results focus and ability to work effectively across multiple
   disciplines are also essential skills
   - Knowledge and experience developing project designs for development
   projects
   - Previously was a project manager for an international education
   development project

*Salary ranges:* US$ per month

system in VN, understand very well the challenges and barriers in the
education and school system in VN
4. Previously was a project manager for an international education
development project.

*Second choice:*
1. Education back-group: Undergraduate from the Pedagogy University, with
any subject, such as the science subjects, the social subjects, literature
subjects
2. Education experiences: Have been as teacher to do the teaching in the
class, managing the class and students at secondary and high schools.
OR
3. Previously was a project manager for an international education
development project.
4. Networking+ knowledge: good sense in the education and school system in
VN; the challenges and barriers in the education and school system in VN

*Third choice:*
1. Education back-group: Undergraduate from the Pedagogy University, with
any subject, such as the science subjects, the social subjects, literature
subjects
2. Previously was a project manager for an international education
development project.
3. Networking+ knowledge: good sense in the education and school system in
VN; the challenges and barriers in the education and school system in VN

*Fourth choice:*
1. Education back-group: Undergraduate from the Development Education
University
2. Education experiences: Have been as a teacher or assistant teacher to do
the teaching in the class, managing the class and students at the training
center or any school type; or leading in managing the teachers’ lectures of
the training center/ private schools
OR
3. Previously worked on an international education development project.
4. Networking+ knowledge: Strong sense or understanding well in the
education and school system in VN; the challenges and barriers in the
education and school system in VN
