Dear Sir/Madam,

Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV) is pleased to announce the transfer of
seven more Asiatic black bears from two Vietnamese bear bile farms in Binh
Duong province. The transfer took place on November 13, 2020, and now all
seven of these bears are receiving proper care at Four Paws' bear sanctuary
in Ninh Binh.

Incredibly, the recent acceleration of bear farmers choosing to give up
their bears to a rescue center has been a catalyst for even more bear
owners to do the same. Since October 1, 2020, 15 bears have been released
from bear bile farms to sanctuaries around Vietnam. This rapid and
unprecedented movement demonstrates Vietnam's commitment to become a
bear-bile free nation.

Attached is the joint media statement from the Bear Coalition of Vietnam.
The statement highlights key aspects of today's transfer and the progress
to end Vietnam's bear bile farming industry, including a history of
Vietnam's bear farms, laws that protect bears, and evidence of the dying
industry in numbers.

"ENV will continue to work hard to encourage other bear owners across the
country to do the same until there are no more bears caged at bear bile
farms in Vietnam," says Vu Thi Quyen, ENV Executive Director. "The time has
come for remaining bear owners to join the rest of the country in making
sure this embarrassing and cruel remnant of the past is completely
eliminated from Vietnam’s progressing society."
