VVAF first returned to Vietnam in 1981 when the first of many delegations arrived to engage discussions with the government of Vietnam on issues of common concern, and to begin the long slow road to healing and reconciliation. In 1994, with the lifting of the US embargo against Vietnam, VVAF quickly established a representative office in Hanoi, and have been active in humanitarian assistance programs continuously since that time. Their involvement has grown substantially since then, and by mid 2009, VVAF have been active in 18 provinces with a variety of assistance programs.
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works with the Vietnam Authority of HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC) to help build the medical and public health infrastructure to address the HIV epidemic in Vietnam. We work in particular to strengthen care and treatment programs, improve the HIV-associated laboratory system, and address prevention of transmission from HIV-infected mothers to their children (PMTCT).
CHAI seeks to hire a full-time Program Officer to work on programs designed to address HIV-infected children, PMTCT, and tuberculosis in HIV-infected persons. The Program Officer will report to a Program Coordinator.

Overall Responsibilities: HAIVN seeks an Information Technology (IT) Specialist. The IT Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development and scale-up of an HIV-related distance learning project. Animals Asia Foundation is a Hong Kong-based government-registered animal welfare charity founded by Jill Robinson MBE in 1998. It is devoted to the needs of wild, domesticated and endangered species throughout Asia and dedicated to ending cruelty and restoring respect for all animals. In Vietnam, Animals Asia has signed an agreement with the Government of Vietnam to rescue 200 bears and to establish a world class Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre (VBRC) in Tam Dao National Park, Vinh Phuc Province. Our primary goals are to end bear farming, contribute to the conservation of bears in Vietnam and in the region and improve the welfare of such bears already in captivity.

Center for Women and Development, under Vietnam Women’s Union, is currently running Peace House Shelter Project funded by Spanish Agency for International Development Co-operation with an aim to support women and children who are victims of trafficking in persons. Victims are offered a free comprehensive support service package including safe accommodation, health care, psychological care, legal aids, vocational training and reintegration support.
