The Representation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Vietnam seeks qualified Vietnamese citizen to fill the post of National Consultant on safety at sea with duty station in Hue or Hanoi . The duration of the post is 12 month with possible extension during the project life for the National Coordination Office of the Regional Fisheries Livelihoods Programme for South and Southeast Asia (RFLP – GCP/RAS/237/SPA, 2009 – 2013, www.rflp.org), a project aimed to strengthen the capacity among participating small-scale fishing communities and their supporting institutions towards improved livelihoods and sustainable fisheries resources management in central provinces in Viet Nam.
Position and scope of work: The National PA Specialist works under the direction of, and reports directly to, the Chief Technical Advisor (CTA). The National PA Specialist assists the CTA in technical matters regarding protected area management and biodiversity conservation, and in liaison with the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park and relevant line departments and government agencies. The work consists of providing technical advisory support to the PMU and the PNKB NP/WHS and its staff members, at province and district/park level, either directly or in conjunction with the CTA.
