I. General introduction:
The Consultative and Research Centre on Nature Resource Management and Climate Change Adaptation (CORENACCA) has been working and implementing projects in climate change and sustainable development in the coastal and mountainous areas in Thanh Hoa province since 2014. Currently, CORENACCA Centre is coordinating with local partners to design and organize the implementation of projects in three main areas:
- The Climate Change Resilience Livelihood Project supports ethnic minorities in highland and coastal areas that are affected by climate change.
- Nature and biodiversity conservation projects in nature reserves and world biosphere reserves in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces.
- Climate Change Adaptive Disaster Risk Management Project;
Through Bread for the World (BftW) in Vietnam, CORENACCA received funding to implement the Project on Strengthening disaster resilience of watershed forest communities. The project will be implemented in a 3-year time frame (starting from October 2024) in 3 communes Xuan Thang, Xuan Loc and Luan Thanh, which are communes in the buffer zone of Xuan Lien National Park, of Thuong Xuan district.
The main objectives of the Project are:
- Objective 1: The climate-induced disaster risk exposure of local communities in the 3 project communes has been reduced.
- Objective 2: Agricultural livelihoods of poor communities in the 3 project communes are strengthened.
To contribute to the completion of the project objectives and development, CORENACCA Centre recruits 1 position of Project Assistant with the following requirements:
II. Roles and responsibilities:
1. Main responsibilities
- Draft the Project activity plans.
- Support the implementation and direct monitoring of Community Based Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation activities.
- Implement and monitor livelihood models and sustainable forest development actvities in the project area.
- Assist senior Project Officer and Project Coordinator in updating data in the project's M&E system.
- Support to organize of meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Support experts inside and outside the Center in conducting research activities in the project area.
- Monitor and implement activities according to the project's plan.
- Prepare logistics for Project’s activities.
- Provide activity’s reports in time.
2. Finance support:
- Complete financial procedures such as final settlement, advance and advance settlement for project activities
- Supporting for Project’s audit activities.
3. Reporting:
- Prepare activity reports and draft monthly, quarterly and annual reports
4. Working Conditions:
- This position is based at the Center's office in Thanh Hoa City and frequently travels to the Project site in Thuong Xuan District.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends for special schedules/events.

III. Requirements.
- Bachelor's degree, college degree, or in the process of obtaining a degree, preferably in Forestry, Agriculture, or Environment Management.
Experience in related fields, experience working on community development projects, and English language skills are an advantage. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Email, and Internet.
- Good presentation skills and reporting skills.
- Team work skills.
- Ability to work under high pressure and/or independently.
