Associate Professor Hoang Ngoc Vinh, former director of the Department of Vocational Training, under the Ministry of Education and Training, has pointed out three reasons leading to the loopholes in university accreditation in Vietnam, the local Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reported.
The first reason is the shortage of specific standards for professional and highly applied fields such as engineering and technology, medicine, education, and law.
The second reason is that accreditation reviewers are trained and certified with general knowledge and skills, making them very difficult to evaluate a specific program at a deep professional level.
