World Vision Vietnam (WVV) invites competent Vietnamese candidates for the following positions:
1. PROJECT ASSISTANT – Health (2 positions) working for the Area Development Programs (ADP) in Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province and Kim Dong district, Hung Yen province. Deadline for application: 20 November 2009.
Main Responsibilities: This position supports WV Vietnam to improve the health status of poor children and assists the ADP Manager in designing and developing project plans, monitoring the implementation of project activities to achieve stipulated objectives.
1. Background information: The project on Women´s Entrepreneurship Development and Gender Equality (WEDGE) is implemented within the framework of the ILO Decent Work Country Programme in Vietnam, contributing to job creation and poverty alleviation through gender equality promotion and local economic development. Its development objective is to contribute to the creation of greater opportunities for low-income women and their families to secure decent employment and income through women’s enterprise development. The WEDGE project in Vietnam is part of the global WEDGE programme, supported by the ILO-Irish Aid Partnership Programme in the period of 2008 – 2011. The main outcomes of the projects are as follows:
Oxfam GB in Viet Nam offers internship programme for young graduates who are interested in and committed to development work. Selected interns whilst providing administrative support to the team can gain essential office skills, and take part in project activities as well as a number of learning opportunities. They will gain invaluable working experience that benefits their future employment. Internship contract is lasted for one year maximum.
They are currently seeking Vietnamese nationals for Programme Intern position. Working location is Hanoi Office with occasional travel to project areas.
Specific Responsibilities: - Interpreting and translating letters and project documents - Support contacting project partners and other stakeholders
Who they are? Founded in 1942, Oxfam Great Britain made its first grant in Vietnam in 1955, and is now a leading global development and humanitarian organization. Oxfam GB's programmes in Vietnam range across sectors including rural livelihoods and infrastructure, basic education, disaster management, and national level social and economic policy change. Oxfam GB is a member of Oxfam International.
The role: In charge of the project services including office management, project finance monitoring and support project’s implementation activities for the Participatory Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness project. Reports to: Project Coordinator for Participatory Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness project
UNDP has been continuously supporting PAR efforts in HCMC since 1998. Two first consecutive projects supported the city government in designing and implementing the decentralization initiative under Decentralization Decree. Tested in the four delegated functions (socio-economic investment and development planning; land and infrastructure management; budget management; and organization and personnel management) this initiative was seen as a driving force for change in the management relationship the city administrative levels, providing good lessons to the central government in strategizing its decentralization policy.
CESVI, an Italian NGO who has been working in Vietnam since 1991 with projects in the sectors of health, nutrition, rural micro-finance, water and sanitation, and education, is calling for the submission of CVs from trainers to support the project: ‘Promoting the application of basic Human Rights through the utilization of legal frameworks, to improve services for vulnerable groups in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh Provinces, Vietnam’ funded by the European Commission.
The third phase of the project funded by UNDP, namely “Strengthening the capacity of Vietnamese Government’s agencies in accelerating and improving PAR efficiency and effectiveness” has been approved by the Prime Minister in April 2009 with four main outcomes: (1) PAR process management and policy development strengthened; (2) public service delivery reform assessed and piloted; (3) local government reform; and (4) PAR communications/information system improved and PAR partnership strengthened.
The third phase of the project funded by UNDP, namely “Strengthening the capacity of Vietnamese Government’s agencies in accelerating and improving PAR efficiency and effectiveness” has been approved by the Prime Minister in April 2009 with four main outcomes: (1) PAR process management and policy development strengthened; (2) public service delivery reform assessed and piloted; (3) local government reform; and (4) PAR communications/information system improved and PAR partnership strengthened.
The main objective of international conusltant is to facilitate participatory and consultative processes of developing a result based M&E system supported by SMART indicators of Public Administration Reform (PAR) programme in MOHA.
