The United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries in Viet Nam (UN-REDD Viet Nam Programme) will address complexities of developing REDD-readiness in Viet Nam through capacity building at two levels: The Programme will build capacity at the national level to permit the Government of Viet Nam, and especially of REDD focal point, the Viet Nam Administration of Forestry (MARD), to coordinate and manage the process of establishing tools to implement a REDD programme that provides and effective, transparent and equitable system of demonstrating real and measurable reduction in emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and transferring international payments for carbon conservation to local stakeholders

About ENV Education for Nature-Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non-governmental organization focused on conservation of nature and the environment through education. Their mission is to foster greater understanding amongst the Vietnamese public about environmental issues of local, national and global significance, ranging from protection of wildlife and natural ecosystems to climate change.
HEMA is an EU – funded project supporting the Ministry of Health in 5 poor and remote provinces of Vietnam. The objective of the HEMA is : improved health status of the poor population in mountainous, minority areas of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Gia Lai and Kon Tum. One of project activities is implementation of pilot models for community based management for Hypertension and Asthma in two communes of Lai Chau and Kon Tum. These pilot models were carried out from 2010 – 2011. In 2011, HEMA will evaluate the these pilot models for drawing and document the lessons learned.
