OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Introduction
Oxfam has been working in development assistance in Vietnam for more than two decades, with a strong focus on improving rural livelihoods. Trade and markets are important dimensions of our work.
Rice is an important commodity for Vietnam and farmers – for farmer’s livelihoods, domestic consumption and export. Vietnam has experienced very large and sustained growth in rice production over the past quarter century. This was achieved through land productivity gains and the increased intensification of production.

Oxfam is an international confederation of 15 organizations working together in 98 countries and with partners and allies around the world to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. In Vietnam, Oxfam is recognized as one of the leading international NGOs, especially in rural development, disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response, civil society development, ethnic minorities, and women’s empowerment.

Position/Title: Clinical Advisor (Physician) -- HIV care and treatment
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Length of position: One year, with possibility of extension

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works with partner governments in more than thirty countries to help bring effective, high-quality HIV treatment and care to people infected with HIV.  All CHAI programs are initiated at the request of government.  National programs scaling up adult and pediatric HIV/AIDS treatment need knowledgeable, skilled clinicians to mentor and train local staff in comprehensive HIV diagnosis, care and treatment.
