I/ Background:
AIP Foundation is a US nonprofit Organisation delicated to combating the epidemic levels of road traffic crash fatalities and injuries in the developing countries. AIP Foundation will from October 2010 is implement the project: “Head Safe. Helmet On funded by Atlantic Philanthropies. The project will use a multi-sector approach to effectively improve child helmet wearing in Vietnam through advocacy and communication campaigns and apply research to understand child helmet use in the context of the influences, interests, attributes, quality and needs of different populations and persons in the community.

About ENV
Education for Nature-Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non-governmental organization focused on conservation of nature and the environment through education. Their mission is to foster greater understanding amongst the Vietnamese public about environmental issues of local, national and global significance, ranging from protection of wildlife and natural ecosystems to climate change. They employ creative and innovative strategies to influence attitudes and behavior, not only highlighting the need to protect Vietnam’s rich natural heritage and the living world around us, but also encouraging greater public participation in achieving this important and challenging task.

About NLRC:
The Netherland Red Cross is part of the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement and works in Vietnam in partnership with its sister organization, the Vietnam Red Cross. The support to Vietnam focuses on Community Based Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change Adaptation, Relief and Recovery after Disasters and Capacity Building of the Vietnam Red Cross. The NLRC has a small team in Vietnam (1 expatriate and 3-6 national staff) that works together with the VNRC and other Red Cross organizations in Vietnam

Position information:
Position title: CBDRM Programme Officer
Reporting to: Representative of NLRC in Vietnam
Contract: 1 year contract with high potential for extension
Based in: Hanoi with travel to project sites as required

Duty Station            :  Hanoi
Position's Grade        :  G5 (1 year contract, renewable)
Title of Position        :  Project Assistant (IOM Vietnam work title: “Project Officer”)

General Functions:
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission, and under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Development Officer, the Project Assistant will be responsible and accountable for the supervision of project activities, especially projects funded by PRM and the EU in the areas of trafficking and violence, and in assisting in the development of new projects.
