MAG is an international humanitarian non-governmental organization clearing remnant of conflicts in current and former conflict zones.  Present in Vietnam since 1999, MAG has been working to maximize community safety and help those most-at-risk reduce their chance of being in a UXO accident.

We are seeking a strong qualified Technical Field Manager, who will implement, oversee and safely manage all aspects of mine clearance, BAC and EOD operations and related tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that these are consistent with MAG’s policies and mandate.

Key requirements for the position include:

Essential Qualifications

• EOD 3 qualification or EOD 2 for at least 5 years of current experience focussing on directly mine action activities.
• Driving license: Class B2 or above
• Relevant and recognised qualification to fulfil organisational needs or suitable practical experience

Essential Experience

• Experience of working in mine clearance, BAC/EOD and mechanical
• Experience of managing field integrated mechanical/manual clearance operations.
• Experience of leading, motivating and managing a diverse team of people
• Experience of mentoring and coaching others
• Experience of working independently for extended periods of time in ‘stand-alone’ environments with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Technical knowledge of mines/unexploded ordnance and integrated mine clearance techniques including new developments
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate activities and projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
• Ability to develop and apply field operations and administrative work plans 
• Knowledge of local regulations and laws related to mine action and explosives management in Vietnam.
