The Global Environment Facility (GEF) approved the project “Environmental Remediation of Dioxin Contaminated Hotspots in Viet Nam”. The objective of the project is “to minimize the disruption of ecosystems and health risks for people from environmental releases of TCDD contaminated hotspots”. One of the key components of the Project is the demonstration of prospective dioxin destruction technologies at practical scale to evaluate their feasibility. The Project includes a key output “pilot scale demonstration of remediation technology for potential use at Bien Hoa and/or Phu Cat” under the Outcome “Dioxin in core hotspot areas contained and remediated”.
