The Hanoi School of Public Health, Ministry of Health seeks to recruit a Communication Officer under the Project entitled “Partnering with the Hanoi School of Public Health in Vietnam to Enhance Health Workforce Development, Health Systems Strengthening and Public Health Information funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Anh-Chi-Em program (ACE) was established by Entrepreneurs du Monde in 2007 in the Dien Bien province to offer financial and socio economic services to farmers from marginalized ethnic minorities.
The objective of ACE is to help poor households in remote areas to reduce their vulnerability and reach better living conditions through the provision of quality financial and capacity building services in a sustainable way.
BACKGROUND Passerelles numériques, a non-profit organisation, is dedicated to helping as many young people as possible from disadvantaged backgrounds obtain education and qualified employment in the IT sector.
Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 450 students and hopes to train 750 over the next 3 years. Passerelles numériques employs 75 people based in these three countries, as well as a small team in France.
Passerelles numériques depends on the financial support and skills of a number of partners such as Microsoft, HP, Accenture, Steria, Econocom, Altedia and Osiatis, as well as donations from individuals.
With sponsorship from Korea Bank and ChildFund Korea, ChildFund in Vietnam is executing the Dream Road project (bike provision to preschool and primary school children) in Kim Boi district, Hoa Binh province, Na Ry district, Bac Kan province and Quang Uyen and Tra Linh districts, Cao Bang province. ‘Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries’ (REDD+) offers an opportunity to capitalise on local stakeholders’ experience of forest monitoring while presenting new technical challenges on how data can be generated for a national REDD+ programme. Participatory forest monitoring (PFM) presents a multifaceted approach to engage stakeholders, particularly local people in REDD+ and contribute to the livelihoods of forest-dependent people. SNV and the Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST), together with local government and community stakeholders in the southern province of Lam Dong, are currently piloting a model of PFM.
